The Cluden Cricket Club are excited to announce Justin Lampard will take up the role as Playing Coach for the 2024-25 season.
Justin has been a key player at the club since playing his first game for the C’s in 2022, providing great experience and mentorship to our playing group.
His outstanding 2023-24 campaign resulted in him taking out the Woolnough Shield Batting Aggregate and Average, scoring 488 runs at an average of 122, with his season including a phenomenal 201* against Cheltenham Park and centuries against Washington Park and West Bentleigh.
Previously, Justin played high level cricket in his junior years in Wellington, before moving to Melbourne and playing Victorian Premier Cricket with Camberwell and VSDCA with Box Hill and Brunswick.
Justin is aiming to continue the strong work of previous seasons where development and skill improvement has been the key component to the Cluden Cricket Club Senior Program.
President Tim Balmer said Justin’s mentorship would be a fantastic for the season ahead and ensure great continuity in the program for our 101st season.
“On behalf of the committee I’m pleased to announce Justin has official come on board as playing coach,” he said.
“Most people are aware of his impact on the program over previous seasons. We feel he can help develop our younger playing group and add some much needed experience on the field and at training, continuing to rise the standards of these sessions to drive us forward.
“With a number of key members of the senior program returning for season 2024-25, we feel this summer is going to be super exciting as we return to William Street Reserve for the first time in 18 months after a much needed redevelopment of the outfield.”
Senior Training begins in August with any interested new players advised to contact the club via social media or email cludencricket@outlook.com.
